21.09.2024 12:00 / Narva Art Gallery

Event overview

For the first time, Narva Museum invites you to visit a hidden place—its collection storage. These storerooms hold items from the museum’s collection that are not currently on display.

The Narva Museum’s collection contains over 84,000 items, but less than 5% of the collection is currently on exhibit. Together with the museum’s curators, you will visit the storage facilities in the Narva Art Gallery, where historical, archaeological, ethnographic, and art collections are preserved.

The tour is part of the Old Monuments Protection Days, which are dedicated to the theme of transportation, roads, and communication. In the storerooms, you will not only see various forms of transport depicted in paintings but also different means of communication: wall, desk, and mobile phones, a radiotelephone, a payphone, and even a switchboard from the Krenholm Manufacturing Company.

The tour in Russian starts at 12:00 PM.
The tour in Estonian starts at 2:00 PM.

Tour duration: 60 minutes
