Narva Museum has completed a major ER3 project supported by the EU Estonia external borders program. The overall goal of the project was to improve the entrepreneurial and living environment and enhance the competitiveness of Narva Castle as a cultural and tourist destination. The restoration of historical heritage and its accessibility to the public create favorable conditions for local and regional SMEs, which benefit from the increase in tourist numbers.

According to Maria Smorževskihh-Smirnova, Director of Narva Museum, the project is of great significance. “As a result of the project, historical heritage important to all of Estonia has been restored, and Narva Castle has become more accessible to the public. This promotes an increase in the number of tourists in the region and revitalizes local entrepreneurship.”

The ER3 project, co-financed by the EU Estonia external borders program, lasted 52 months and had a total cost of approximately €5.93 million. Narva Museum's budget for this project was €4,262,091.52, with EU support amounting to €3,697,790.60.

We look forward to seeing you at the opening to celebrate this important milestone for Narva Museum and the entire region together!
