Event overview

Lecturer: Madis Tuuder.
The lecture will be held in Estonian.

Please note! The lectures will be conducted in a hybrid format both at the Narva Museum (Rondeel Restaurant, on the third floor) and in the Zoom environment.

Narva has historically been known primarily for its grand Baroque old town. In this lecture, we will explore what Baroque is, its origins, and why this style left such a strong mark on Narva in both architectural and urban contexts. Specifically, we will discuss the formation of Baroque Narva in the 17th century, the urban development preconditions and reasons for its emergence, and its architectural historical connections with other cities and regions.

Choose the lecture format that suits you.
