After the Liberation War, fierce battles unfolded between Estonian forces and the Red Army on the Narva front. Despite the ceasefire declared in Narva on January 3, 1920, and the signing of the Tartu Peace Treaty on February 2, the fight against infectious diseases, especially typhus, continued in Narva and Virumaa. What were the causes of typhus, what contributed to its spread, and how was it overcome? Was there any similarity to the current COVID-19 pandemic in combating that epidemic? You will get answers to these and other questions during our Zoom lectures.
The lecturer will be Igor Kopytin, an Estonian military historian and author of numerous publications.
Ticket price: 5 €.
The cost of the spring series, 13 lectures from March 13 to April 21, 2021: 35€.
