One of the most exceptional icons in the collection is “Paul, Sergius and Catherin”. This 18th century icon is decorated with gold and silver embroidery. Faces have been masterfully painted onto unknown material. The icon needs to be restored to fully appreciate the skill of masters and beauty of the icon. At the current state metallic parts have been tarnished, the fabric is deteriorating, and faces are barely recognizable.

To restore such a complex masterpiece ten of hours of experienced textile, metal and wood restorers work is needed.

By donating 3,50 euros you would support restoring 1 cm2 of the icon. But with 32 euros donation you would cover a whole 1% of restoration work needed.
