28.07.2025 10:00 - 01.08.2025 15:00 / Narva Castle

Event overview

This year, dedicated to books and reading, we invite children on a unique journey into the world of emotions and words. Each day of the camp will focus on one emotion — we will discuss it, play, draw, and, of course, write. The children will visit a newspaper editorial office and a radio station to learn how stories are born and come to life, and at the end of the camp, we’ll compile all the material into a collective "Book of Stories." This is a great opportunity to develop writing skills, imagination, and emotional intelligence. Most importantly, it’s a way to create warm and lasting memories of a summer filled with words, feelings, and discoveries.

The program is conducted in Russian.
Age group: 7–10 years
Time: 10:00–15:00 daily
Meeting point each day: Narva Castle ticket office (Peetri plats 7)

  • Monday, July 28

On the first day, the children will get to know each other and step into the mysterious world of the old castle, where our adventures begin. We’ll explore the majestic halls, listen to the legends whispered by the ancient stones, and feel how every corner of the castle tells a story. We’ll talk about the emotions the children are feeling and turn those into art — each child will create a puppet reflecting a part of themselves. Then, we’ll bring the puppets to life in mini-performances inspired by castle legends and our own imagination.

  • Tuesday, July 29

We’ll visit the Narvamuss youth editorial office to discover how real articles are created, how an editorial team works, and how a magazine is made — from idea to printed page.
Inspired by this visit, the children will become young journalists: they’ll conduct interviews, improve their speaking and listening skills, and learn how to ask the right questions. They’ll also design creative magazine covers — because today, every child becomes the author of their own story!

  • Wednesday, July 30

This day is dedicated to modern literature. At the Central Library, children will discover exciting new books and the latest trends in children’s reading. They'll learn how to find “that one book” and what makes a story truly engaging.
In the afternoon, we’ll create our own animated short film based on a favorite story. From writing to drawing, from characters to editing — young authors take the lead, turning a regular day into a true creative adventure!

  • Thursday, July 31

The morning starts with a walk through the magical trails of Jakkeküla Forest Park, where characters from a local author’s fairy tales come to life. We’ll search for hidden forest huts and caves of mythical creatures, diving deep into a world of imagination and natural wonder.
In the afternoon, the scenery changes — we’ll visit a real radio studio. Children will see how radio broadcasts are made and how sound can become a story. They'll practice speaking clearly, expressing mood through voice, and realize that radio is more than sound — it’s an art form.

  • Friday, August 1

We’ll visit Narva College to explore an exhibition dedicated to the Year of the Book and take a look inside the cozy student library, where every book can be a journey starter.
In the afternoon — the highlight of the week: an exciting quest inspired by adventure books! We’ll face riddles, challenges, and plot twists, just like the heroes of our favorite stories.

At the end of the day, we’ll gather to reflect on a week full of discoveries, creativity, and friendship — and celebrate the memories and stories we’ve created together.
