Hooray! The first episode of our series is now available for viewing. The second episode will be released tomorrow at the same time (Monday, 20:00). A total of 8 episodes were filmed.
The series "Border's Key" takes place in the fantastical reality of the medieval city of Narva. It is a city-castle located on the very border between two worlds - the Western and Eastern civilizations.
Here live people of typical medieval professions: a knight, an executioner, a minstrel, an inquisitor, a smuggler, a beautiful lady, as well as characters with professions more appropriate for the 21st century. Familiar phenomena to us, such as barbershops, beauty salons, real estate purchases through a broker, are transported into the harsh everyday life of ancient times...
The sitcom "Border's Key" (Estonian title "Piirilinnus") is the result of the joint efforts of the Narva Museum, the Department of Economics and Development of the City of Narva, as well as representatives of the Estonian creative industry, including director Artur Tyulenev, cinematographer Yuri Zhiltsov, screenwriter Marat Alyautdinov, and a host of both young and more experienced actors from Narva. The music for the series was composed by composer and sound director Dmitry Pijbe.
The creation of the series was made possible by the ER190 "Narva projects CAP" project. The project is implemented within the framework of the Estonian external border program of the EU 2014-2020 and co-financed by the European Union. The same program supported the renovation of the Narva promenade and the western courtyard of the Hermann Castle. The total budget of the project is 77,000 euros, with partner self-financing of 7,700 euros, and program support of 69,300 euros. The project is being implemented from May 1 to October 31, 2023.
