Today Narva Museum had the honour of welcoming Glenn Micallef, European Commissioner for Intergenerational Fairness, Youth, Culture and Sport, together with the delegation of the European Commission Representation in Estonia.

During the visit, Narva Museum board member Maria Smorževskihh-Smirnova introduced the guests to the rich and complex history of Narva, the museum’s permanent exhibition, and the recently opened exhibition “Mariupol – City of Happiness, Ghost City”.

We thank Mr Glenn Micallef and the European Commission Representation in Estonia for the meaningful meeting and open exchange of ideas. It is encouraging to see that we share a common understanding of the important role of culture, historical memory, and museums in safeguarding European values.
