Director of Narva Museum Receives Amber Award
This year, the Amber Award of the Association of Castles and Museums around the Baltic Sea has been presented to the Director of Narva Museum, Maria Smorzhevskaya-Smirnova.
This award recognizes her significant contribution to the work of the association, the development of cooperation among its members, and the communication of the culture and history of the Baltic Sea region.
It also highlights spiritual resilience, commitment to peace, democratic values, and the right to speak the truth about history.
“As of today, it is much more evident what power and influence knowledge or ignorance, understanding or deliberate deception, truth or lies about history have—and how they motivate action or serve as justification,” note the organizers of the Association.
We thank the Association of Castles and Museums around the Baltic Sea and congratulate Maria! This is a significant recognition for the director and the entire museum team.
