Event overview

Welcome to a riverside camp — where once walked the Vikings, war horns echoed, and history rippled in the air! Together we’ll set up a tent camp in the style of the ancient North, explore the castle’s winding corridors, discover its hidden corners, and learn how real northern warriors lived. We’ll dive into workshops on runes, jewelry, legends, and other ancient tricks. Expect days full of adventure, fun water challenges, bonfires in the North Courtyard, games, and tales about how Vikings chewed fish oil and found paths to treasure. All of it — with river views, fiery spirit, and great company!

  • Monday, July 21

We begin with an immersion into northern legends — tracing the real Vikings! Children get to know each other, explore the camp area, and gather around the fireplace for the first tales of seafaring Scandinavian heroes.
Next, we go “fishing” — a fun game where everyone can try being a Viking hunter. Lunch includes hearty nuggets cooked on a real fire, just like in the old northern expeditions.
In the afternoon, we’ll craft our own protective amulets from beads, “bones,” and “teeth,” just like the Vikings did for strength and luck. We’ll draw runes and carry home a piece of ancient power.

  • Tuesday, July 22

We’ll venture into mysterious bastions, home to bats — the guardians of ancient dungeons. After a walk in the park to spot their tiny homes, we’ll craft bat-shaped keychains as symbols of stealth and keen senses.
Then, it’s time to test our skills: archery and “cannonball” throwing — every Viking must defend their home!
Next comes a special visit to Kristervall Bastion, where history echoes through time. Inspired, we’ll build our own fortress and step into the shoes of true Viking defenders.

  • Wednesday, July 23

This day is dedicated to Viking sailors — bold conquerors of seas and rivers. We’ll visit the Young Sailors' Club, where children will learn about watercraft, knots, and the lives of those who call ships their home.
Then a riverside promenade: feel the breeze, gaze at the water, and imagine Viking longships gliding past centuries ago.
Inspired, each child will craft their own boat, pouring into it a sense of adventure and wanderlust.
Lunch is true field-style: foil-baked potatoes and campfire bread — just like rugged but noble Vikings enjoyed!

  • Thursday, July 24

Today, we head to Rootsiküla Farm to meet animals, observe their behavior, and learn their role in Viking life. No Scandinavian clan survived without horses, sheep, or dogs!
We’ll also explore Norse mythology and their magical creatures — mighty wolves, wise ravens, and dragons that decorated warships.
In the afternoon, each child will sculpt their own figure — from a friendly sheep to a mythical beast. A perfect souvenir from their personal Viking saga.

  • Friday, July 25

On the final day, each child becomes a true Viking — we’ll be crafting legendary horned helmets!
Decorating them will let the children express their strength, courage, and creativity.
Then it’s time for the grand finale: an exciting quest — “How to Defeat a Dragon.” A thrilling treasure hunt full of puzzles, challenges, and teamwork.

The week ends with bright memories, new friends, and the sense that the adventure is only just beginning!
