Modernisation of Estonia: Life One Hundred Years Ago
Using objects and photographs from the 1920s–1930s, we explore how life in Narva was changing. We examine education, fashion, cinema, everyday life, and new habits. We discuss social changes and what people of that era considered important. Participants complete tasks in a worksheet linked to the exhibition. History of Narva’s Fortifications
Inside a reconstructed half-bastion, we explore the structure of the bastion system and the history of sieges. We walk along the fortifications, compare plans with the terrain, and identify key defensive points. Participants work with a worksheet and play a board game related to fortifications. Key concepts: bastion, fortification, the Swedish period, the Great Northern War Curriculum links: Early modern history (17th–18th centuries), Estonia under Swedish and Russian rule.
