History festival "Narva Battle 2018"

Start date: 10.08.2018 20:00
End date: 12.08.2018 18:00

From the 10th to the 12th of August, Narva Castle will once again be filled with battle cries, cannons firing, and soldiers fighting for their lives. The bastions are shrouded in clouds of powder smoke. The Battle of Narva is on!

The historical festival “Narva Battle” is a reconstruction of one of the Northern War’s great battles. The Northern War battles of 1700 and 1704 placed Narva in the history of Europe. Led by the 18 year-old Charles XII of Sweden, the Swedish Army defeated the Russian forces in November 1700. Peter the Great conquered Narva in the second Narva Battle in 1704. The participants of military historical clubs from different countries come together to reenact the events of the battle at Narva Castle.

The three days full of excitement are hosted by Narva Castle. The main event of this historic festival is the Night Battle, followed by the Battle of Narva reconstruction between Swedes and Russians the next day. The historic Festival “The Battle of Narva” is a major summer event, attracting a large number of tourists.
